The first in of a handful of spring shows across Newfoundland, Valmy is looking forward to sharing music on Fogo Island.

Valmy is a singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist who’s been following the ocean and making home on the East Coast. Exploring the complexities of relationship, loss, and healing, she uses her folk-influenced music to tell stories about loving and stumbling your way through the dark. Now based in St. John’s, Newfoundland, Valmy creates and performs by weaving nature-inspired melodic swells and atmospheric harmonies with her contemplative writing.

In September 2023 she independently released her debut full-length album, The In Between, which was warmly received by listeners and thoughtfully reviewed by Fred’s Records; “There is a cohesiveness to this full album offering meditative musings on balancing ones own mental state in harmony with nature…Deftly produced, engineered, and mixed, The In Between is one of 2023’s finest NL Releases”. Valmy received MusicNL 2023 nominations for Folk Artist and Rising Star of the Year, a 2024 ECMA nomination, and looks forward to connecting with communities through performances across Newfoundland this spring and summer.
